So, what is Wycliffe?
Wycliffe was founded by William Cameron Townsend in 1942. He saw a need for Bible translation after concern was expressed by the Cakchiquel Indians, of Guatemala, that a Bible was not available to them.
Wycliffe's Mission: "To see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025"
Wycliffe's Vision: "That God's word is accessible to all people in a language that speaks to their heart."
World Population: Over 7 billion
Number of Languages Spoken in the World: 6800+
Number of Languages without any of the Bible, but with a possible need of a Bible translation to begin: Under 2000
Number of translation programs where Wycliffe and its partners are currently at work: Over 1500
Number of people groups that have access to the entire Bible in the language they know best: 518
Please join me in praying for these translation needs; pray for the Bibleless people groups, and pray about how you can be involved!

A Little About Me
Hi! I'm Marie. I am a missionary teacher with Wycliffe Bible Translators. I spent a little over 3 years in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where I taught at Haven of Peace Academy. I am now preparing to go to Mbeya Tanzania, where I will be starting a school for missionary kids. This blog is a place to share more about who I am, and get a glimpse into what I am doing. Please feel free to share with a friend! :)
